1 Tier Fountains
The shape and construction of a tiered, or one tier fountain, is a round oval shape. The 'tiers' refer to the levels that the fountain has. A one tier fountain has one level, with water running down from the top of the fountain. The water runs up through the center of the fountain in pipes, but the pipes are often concealed to give the fountain a more magical presence.
To be honest, not a lot of people look for a one-tiered fountain. Most people look for a two-tiered or three tiered fountain. The more tiers you add, the more the fountain will generally cost. Two tiered or three tiered fountains are more popular because they are more interesting, with the water flowing from top to bottom, and then back up through the concealed tubes.
